Crystal of the Week: Fluorite

Welcome back to Crystal of the Week. This week I want to talk about one of my quiet favourites, fluorite. It is the stone I reach for when my brain feels like twenty tabs are open at once, and it never lets me down.

Fluorite is a calcium fluoride crystal known for its soft, watercolour colours. A single piece can hold green, purple, blue and clear all swirled together, which is how rainbow fluorite gets its name. No two pieces are ever the same, and that is a big part of why I love unpacking a fresh batch.

Why Fluorite Is This Week's Pick

If crystals had job titles, fluorite would be the organizer. It is known as a stone of focus, clarity and calm. People reach for it to quiet mental chatter, to think more clearly before a big decision, and to bring a sense of order to a busy day. Green fluorite leans into the heart and emotional reset, purple fluorite supports intuition and a calmer mind, and rainbow fluorite gives you a little of everything.

Wearing Fluorite

One of the easiest ways to keep fluorite's steady energy with you is to wear it. A necklace sits close to the heart and throat, and a bracelet keeps the stone on your pulse all day, which is lovely when you want a calm, focused reminder within reach.

A Little Care Note

Fluorite is on the softer side and it is happiest away from water, so skip the water rinses and the salt. I cleanse mine with a little smoke, a night under the moon, or a rest on a selenite plate. Keep it out of long, direct sun so the colour stays rich, and store it where it will not knock against harder stones.

Bring Some Fluorite Home

If fluorite is calling to you this week, you can see everything I have in stock on the fluorite collection page, from tumbles and towers to carvings and jewelry. Every piece is hand picked and ships from my studio here in Regina.

Thank you for spending a little time here with me. I will see you next week for another crystal.

With love, Laurie
