Apache Tear

Apache Tears are rounded nodules of obsidian, dark and opaque in the hand but glowing a deep translucent brown or grey when you hold them up to the light. They take their name from a mourning story told about the Apache people in the American southwest. The energy of Apache Tear

Apache tear is the grief stone. It is often used for comfort during loss, for grieving at your own pace rather than the pace other people expect, and for the days when you need something to hold. Unlike black obsidian, which can feel confronting, apache tear is generally described as gentle company.

Ways to use Apache Tear

Keep one in a pocket through the early weeks after a loss, hold a piece up to the light when you need a reminder that there is some brightness in there, or give one to a friend when you have run out of words. Apache tear pairs beautifully with mangano calcite for comfort and with rose quartz for gentleness.
