Green aventurine is the stone of opportunity, and I want to draw out a distinction that often gets lost. It is not simply a luck stone in the passive sense of hoping good things happen.

The traditional framing is that it makes you more able to recognise and act on an opportunity when it appears. That is why it sits at the heart chakra rather than the solar plexus — it is about openness and willingness rather than drive and ambition. Citrine is the stone for going after something; green aventurine is the stone for saying yes when something arrives.

It is also strongly associated with soothing — sometimes called the comforter and the healer — and with releasing old patterns that keep you stuck in the same place. Those two ideas fit together neatly: you cannot take a new opportunity while running an old script.

Green aventurine's defining association is luck and opportunity, traditionally the luckiest of stones, giving you the confidence to act and take a chance rather than hesitate past it.
