Black tourmaline and obsidian are the two most asked for, both for shielding and for cutting through noise. Hematite and smoky quartz are the steadying ones, black onyx and labradorite guard the edges of your energy, and pyrite and tiger's eye add a bit of backbone.

How to work with them

Carry a tumbled stone in a pocket, wear a bracelet on the days you know will be busy, or place a raw piece near a doorway or a desk. Many people pair a grounding stone with selenite for cleansing.
